Glazed Carrots #vegan #vegetarian

I'm still trying to find a good glazed carrot recipe that doesn't involve a thickening ingredient like arrowroot or cornstarch. Is there such a thing?

I mean, this was good:

I heated vegan margarine, brown sugar, and orange peel and added the carrots (canned, alas). The flavor was excellent, but the "glaze" was a watery sauce.

What am I missing?

Try maple syrup instead of the brown sugar.
