Charlie loves stewed apples. Whenever he goes to a restaurant, if stewed apples are on offer, he orders them. I can take them or leave them.
At home, he used to make "fried apps," which was apples, peeled, cored, and sliced, cooked in a skillet with butter, sugar, and cinnamon until most of the liquid is gone. I adore fried apps!
Alas for me -- he's switched to making stewed apples. Truth to tell, I beginning to get used to them.
We usually have them with toast, but they're excellent with sausage. They're also excellent over pancakes. And over cottage cheese -- YES! I said cottage cheese. And in oatmeal.
Yeah, I'm getting used to them. I figger I might as well.
