Little Indiana

I just got this book and I absolutely love it! Separated by areas of the state, alphabetized by town within those sections, with a well-organized index in the back, Little Indiana: Small Town Destinations by Jessica Nunemaker is a must-have book for people who like to explore outside the big cities. Jessica gives you a good sampling of local eateries, unique shopping (or just browsing) "opportunities," things to do, points of interest, and a little local history of each small town she features.

The pages and cover are sturdy paper, the corners are rounded, the binding is firm -- it's a book made to be used, and used hard.

My only sorrow is that there are no maps (I love maps), but who needs maps in these days of GPS? Well, me, for one, since any GPS I have seems determined to send me through or to deserted, zombie-infested wastelands, but that's just me.

I'm working on talking my stay-at-home husband into taking some day trips with me this summer; I believe leaving Little Indiana lying around the house just might make that happen.
